Montauk has always been a special place for me. It was the first place I ever flew a kite, with my grandfather on the beach, and where I exhibited in my first art festival. When I took this photograph, it was also the first time my three-year-old son, Milo, helped me on a real photo shoot. He had always known what I did but had never seen me do it in person. He was so excited when my large kite began lifting the camera into the sky above us. He helped me hold the line and position the kite and camera in just the right spot to create this aerial composition of Turtle Cove leading toward the lighthouse.
