Photographed at what is widely considered the most famous surf break in the world, the lineup at Pipeline in Hawaii this morning was filled with a who’s who of professional surfers. From above, the crowd spreads into a pattern of boards and bodies suspended over shifting shades of blue. An ever changing array of boards, surfers, water, and reef. Each surfer waiting for the right moment and their chance to get barreled, as conditions were pumping at daybreak. The energy both on shore and in the water was something I’ll remember forever.
