I photographed this image in Haleiwa, Hawaii at a popular longboard surf break on the North Shore. From above, I noticed two surfers sitting side by side between sets, one on a red board and the other on a yellow board. What drew me to this was its simplicity. No waves, no crowds, just two people sharing the same stretch of water. Seen from an aerial perspective, the scene becomes about color, spacing, and scale, with the surfers surrounded by the beautiful turquoise ocean. This photograph reflects the quieter   moments of surfing, the part I love most.
